
Just finished reading the Star Newspaper this morning and was relieved that I need not do the "Balik Kampung" thingy anymore. "Balik Kampung" is the Malay term for returning to hometown and it is really a stressful, tedious and full of nonsense thing to do during a major festival. It is really an exodus of people from Kuala Lumpur to all the other states.
I have been doing the "Balik Kampung" every weekend for almost thirty years when I was making a living in Kuala Lumpur. To make the routes safer during major festivals, the police had implemented an operation called
Ops Sikap and after reading the article today I am really happy that I do not need to go through this anymore...... I am
