A Family Vacation (^_^) - Japan - Part 3 - Osaka

Day 7 - May 27th.

Our next destination is Osaka so we headed down to Kyoto station to catch a train to Osaka. The public transport is really good and efficient here. There is a train every 15 minutes to Osaka so it was no rush to get to the station.

In the bus to Kyoto Station.

Bicycle park in Osaka

Place to keep shoes before entering the dining area.

Raw Chicken!

Decided to give the kids a treat in a proper restaurant in Osaka, Restaurant Ganko  and it was yummie. We even had chicken sahsimi or raw chicken.

Day 8 - May 28th.

The first destination today is the Kuromon Ichiba Market. Yes it is another place for food, a place that we will never get tired of ... ♫ food glorious food ♪♫ yum!!!

It was already way pass noon after we ate our way through the market. Our next destination is Shinsekai and we walked there since it is close by.

Since our flight home is in the morning tomorrow, we have to wake up real early and leave at before 5:00am. We were all tired out from all the fun and excitement since the day we landed in the land of the rising sun, so we had a real early night after a bowl of delicious noodles.

Day 9 - May 29th.

Yes it was early, very early we reluctantly woke up and made our way to the airport to catch our flight back home. All tired out from the great time we had and we were sad that it's time to go home.

A Family Vacation (^_^) - Japan - Part 2 - Kyoto.

Day 5 - May 25th.

Today we will be travelling to Kyoto by the famed Shinkansen or Bullet Train. We got our tickets to depart Tokyo at about 11:00am so that we will missed the office rush our crowd.

The After Office Rush Crowd.

The whole journey about 500 km or 310 miles takes us about 2 hours 30 minutes because we did not take the express. The ride was really comfortable and nice view to enjoy along the way.

Kyoto Station

Since bus is more convenient here we make use of it to go everywhere we want to and I can say the bus service is superb!

After checking into our Airbnb place, we headed to Gion. We were lucky to see a Geisha but was unable to get a photo of her. When the Geisha alighted from her taxi to get into a restaurant, all tourist around the area suddenly turned into paparazzi.

And for dinner we had Teppanyaki. The restaurant is kind of a cramp and it was a great experience.

Day 6 - May 26th.

Our first destination is Nishiki Market for both breakfast and lunch or should I say eat from breakfast to lunch!

Next destination is Kyoto Gyoen & Imperial Palace, time to be real tourist. There are many historical places in Japan but we chose to minimise our visit to these places base on our interest and time limitation.

The Imperial Palace.

The garden in the palace is beautiful and relaxing. The palace is still being used for ceremonies once in awhile so no one is allowed in.

Our next destination is Fushimi Inari Taisha. From the palace we have to catch a bus and take a train to shorten the travelling time. This place is located outside of Kyoto and upon arrival we had some Inari Sushi which is named after the gods in this shrine, it was yummy!!!

Torii Gates

After the visit to the Shinto Shrine we decided to have dinner in this area and found a very traditional udon shop. We had to wait awhile but it was worth it.

After having a nice yummie meal of udon, we headed back to our place and called it a day.

Next is Osaka.
