China 26th December 2017 to 1st January 2018 - Day 6 & 7 Final

Day 6

Our first stop is Guilin Solitary Peak and to get to the place we had to do a little walking through some construction area.

The little walk.

Yes, we are in the right place.

The Grand Entrance.

No photography after that door.

Some very ancient things.

Hmmm ....

Villagers greeting each other ... I think.

Our guide explain what is going on in Chinese.

Telling some stories.

Some going on all in Chinese.

The next area of interest is the East - West Alley & Xiaoyao Tower. It is now basically a shopping street which had been around for a long long time. Just imagine I could be in the same place as my forefather. 😊

Part of the street.

Very popular food on a stick.

Rickshaw.

This is good, not oily.

Yum!

Next is a visit to a silk outlet.

 Some very old silk clothing.

 Silk clumps

Silk cocoons

Next is back to the hotel for a short break before dinner.

Looks like Forest Gump have a restaurant in China. 😁 Our dinner place.

Lots of bicycle sharing.

Majority of the scooters are electric.

Day 7

Today we return to our home country and it had been an experience for us to visit our motherland. It is a great experience and we learned lots even though we don't speak the language.

China 26th December 2017 to 1st January 2018 - Day 5

Day 5

Breakfast is as usual buffet in the hotel and in this hotel in Longsheng, everything is in Chinese right down to the switches.

Light Switches
Guilin famous rice noodles
After breakfast we headed back Guilin and it was cold and clammy morning. I was glad that we had completed the itinerary here.

Cold cold morning.
Our first destination in Guilin is the Zizhou Park which is facing the Elephant Trunk Hill.

An Electric Police Car outside the park.

 Chinese scholar.

Bamboo scroll with writing.

Our park guide

Some kind of scholar I think.

Lots of green - bamboo

The famous elephant trunk hill.

Lunar cycle figurines

More scholars

Nearly missed this, I think it is the only one in English.

The next destination is Mulong Lake Park after lunch. The thought of a McDonald burger sound great but it is just the same old swimming in oil kind of food.

A pagoda

Totem poles of concrete.

Traditional songs and dances.

The Mulong Arch bridge in the background.

45 meter high Mulong pagoda.

 Old fort.

Drums.

Trail up to the peak.

Next on the list is the Rong and Shan lake area for some scenic view including the Ancient South Gate.

A Gazebo.

A 1,000 year old banyan tree we were told. The Ancient South Gate is on the left I think.

About the banyan tree.

A bridge made of mostly marble.

A view?

Scholars a plenty.

Bike sharing.

The Sun & Moon pagodas.

Day 5 had concluded  and day 6 would be our last day of sight seeing.
Good night ...
